Dangerfield!
GOP veep pick
“I was just your average hockey mom in alaska.”
Holy left field crazy not-gonna-work veep pick for the GOP. Her voice is like the teenager off the Simpsons. I really hope second wavers who were behind Hillary are so stupid as to be blinded to the fact that Kathleen Palin is rabidly pro-life, anti gay rights, and grossy underqualified to play as anything other that a womb-having accessory to McCain’s (and by extenstion, Karl Rove’s) bullshit agenda.
I guess Hillary said no?
All cynicism aside
the Obama acceptance ceremony at the stadium is pretty amazing. When granddaughter Eisenhower was speaking I finally understood what the fuck Americans are so proud of.
America is kind of like the Rolling Stones: It’s been pretty crap as long as I’ve been alive. But yeah, I kinda get it now.

elainecorden: I have nothing to add to this except that I would move to Toronto in a heartbeat if I a) didn’t have to do it alone b) didn’t have an irrational phobia of homelessness and finding an apartment
You guys forgot:
3a.)Making lots of money
And also : Grow up.
Typical Canadian Career Path:
1.) Hating Toronto1a.) Hating Vancouver more
2.) Moving to Toronto
3.) Wishing you could move back to Vancouver
4.) Staying in Toronto
5.) Hating Toronto
Thank god. What a welcome antidote to all the bitching about how there’s too many hipsters, or not enough hipsters, or just the right amount of regular hipsters but not enough who are half man, half horse*, or how the hassling of the Biltmore is “AN ATTACK ON ALL OF US™” or , you know, just general “my beard hurts” type whining from people who don’t want to build anything.**
Vancouver is awesome. Well done, group of bloggers who I sadly don’t know!!
*nb: if you are over 23 and concerned about this, I am pointing at you and laughing.
**I am also aware that I am bitching about bitching. Hate the game, don’t hate the playa!***

this is the first time in my life I’m actually happy with something Chris Matthews said. Like, proud of him. Like, sitting here saying to the screen, “Way to go, Chris, way to go!”
Shit, the world must be coming to an end.
